Dangerous: The Book

My first novel, Dangerous, chronicles one woman's journey through a strange private world of dominance and submission. Though listed as Erotica, it isn't porn. Dangerous is a whirlwind tale of souls in collision, inspired by such controversial works as Story of O, The Image, and Nine and a Half Weeks. Protagonist Koishi Paz is no victim, but rather a talented, intelligent contemporary woman who owns her choices and takes big risks.

Product Description
Sometimes a perfect love is the most dangerous thing in the world.
When young, talented Koishi Paz attends a posh Hollywood party, a chance encounter opens the door to a secret world of dark desires. At its heart stands the mysterious Valeria Stregazzi: a woman with a dark past, inner demons, and an irresistible magnetism. Her own hungers aroused, Koishi plunges into Val's world, believing she can stop any time she wants...only to find she cannot.
Inspired by such notorious works as Story of O, The Image, and Nine and a Half Weeks, Dangerous explores a modern woman's journey into submission and transformation. This shocking, unpredictable, and sometimes funny tale is a Twenty-First Century version of Beauty and the Beast seasoned with a dash of Fight Club.
This is literary erotica for the thinking person. It'll keep you up reading all night, then haunt you for days.
Print Edition
Dangerous can also be purchased as a high-quality trade paperback. Order it from Amazon here.

Reviews
The Safeword Is "Trust", (archived) from a review by Desmond Haas.
Last night I finished Dangerous by Sandra Kishi Glenn. At 12:30 in the morning, I closed my Kindle and sat in my reading chair (doesn’t everyone have one?), allowing the book to sift through me.
In some places, Dangerous is difficult to read, not only because of the violence, but for its propensity to make you think. This is one of those rare books where you cannot be passive. It commands your attention. Please understand I say this not to berate the work, but to praise it and embrace the ideas presented by Ms. Glenn.
The element of BDSM is but a vehicle in this book, much like Michele Zurlo’s stories, a vehicle which takes you along for a ride to a new place of self. You don’t have to agree with the scenes in Dangerous, but you do have to understand how it helps to develop the characters, both of which are damaged when you meet them at the beginning. The book uncovers their individual histories during the progression of the book.
As the characters get closer, both in their need for each other and their bigger need to heal, you, the reader, become part of the story, examining your life, especially as to the people within your circle. Do you take them at face value, seeing only what they present, or do you know the person so intimately, their flaws recede and you get more than a glimpse of their core?
Do you understand when your closeness is disturbing and recognize their safe word (or the talk of body language) and allow them to have a safe haven with you? Trust is all we have with each other, whether driving a car and understand it’s only a painted line separating you from calamity or the trust we have with a mate or friend, where acceptance is total.
Quite spectacular (5/5 stars) - R. Hartshorn
I have very little talent with writing so I am afraid that words might fail me with this review. With a price tag of $2.99 I wasn't too worried about how much I would like this novel. If it was crap I would move on to something else and if it was decent then yay a few dollars well spent. What I ended up getting though was an extraordinary story that really dives headfirst into the world of dominance and submission. Valeria Stregazzi is beautiful and terrible, captivating and cruel. I'm not sure I've read of a single figure that seemed so charismatic and terrifying at the same time. She is one of those characters that if real you would simultaneously want to run to and away from. Koishi's submission to Val is both well paced and well done. Sometimes Val's games/tests for Koishi read as impossible demands which she had no choice in failing, or Val's temper would lead to uncomfortable moments of cruelty, but honestly these things were also very true to the character that had been painted for us. As a reader I was taken on this journey with Koishi and never wanted the ride to end. This novel describes itself as erotic and I would agree and yet further explain that it never delves into smut. Instead we are treated to a more sensuous story from beginning to end.
Dangerous is told from the first person account of Koishi. I personally love this way of telling stories as there this really assists the reader in seeing and living through the eyes of the narrator. Unfortunately first person often fails the narrating character and that person can be left seemingly wooden. Not so in Dangerous. Koishi is very fleshed out and feels real and likable.
Another thing I loved was the very real and convincing secondary characters. Each of them felt alive and were interesting enough that I easily learned their names and stories.
Would I recommend this? Yes definitely. Especially if you have interests in d/s. This book rises far above the usual offerings in this genre. And while the book did wrap many things up, there were several plot lines purposely left open. It seems there is a sequel in the works and I honestly can't wait. 5/5
"Dangerous", by Sandra Kishi Glenn (5/5 stars) -- Michiel Seetan (UK edition)
"Dangerous" is that rare thing: well-written, intelligent, genuinely adult, erotica. The characters are both credible and complex, and some of the scenes are as hot as hell. Right up there with Molly Weatherfield ("Carrie's Story" and "Safe Word") and Pauline Réage ("Histoire d'O").
Thoroughly Enjoyable (5/5 stars) -- Roxi
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters and emotions are disturbingly believable, and unlike so many of the genre it is well written enough to be savoured rather than skimmed through to find the next setpiece scene. There are echoes of "O", but with enough originality to lift it far above being just a copy. For me this is definitely one to keep and read again while waiting for more from this author.
A new classic has emerged, a must read for anyone with an interest in the fascinating world of D/s! (5/5 stars) -- Lex
Dangerous is more than a novel, it is an exciting story written by someone who has truly experienced the exhilaration and the despair of an intriguing D/s relationship. Written with true feelings, the author takes the reader on a journey of submission with all the twists, turns and ingenious ploys of a demanding enigmatic Mistress. The story is as unpredictable as the well developed characters and will captivate the reader completely to the very last page. It will surely join the other classics in the realm of domination and submission literature!
Wonderful mix of sensuality and adventure (5/5 stars) -- Ayu
Everything about this was surprising. It was erotic, but not when I expected it to be. It was exciting, almost terrifying, but events unfolded unpredictably, forcing me into the protagonist's shoes. Once I started, I could not stop and finished it before I was ready for it to be done. Fantastic and fun.
Unexpected Surprise (5/5 stars) -- Beachbum
If Ms Glenn never publishes another work, she has achieved distinction with this work. I am not the type to beg, but please, please gift us at least a short story. Another novel would be priceless.
A great read and certainly not your average "cheap erotic novel" (5/5 stars) -- Deirdre Boyer (German edition)
This is not your average "cheap erotic novel" intended to get you aroused as quickly and as directly as possible.
Sandra Kishi Glenn has written a great novel in its own right. It would have been a good novel with interesting, believable characters, a gripping plot and surprising, yet plausible twists in the storyline - without any of the D/s elements. I have read it in two sessions on two evenings, enjoyed every page of it and was quite disappointed when I had reached the last one; not disappointed because it left me dissatisfied, but because it had ended and there is no sequel. :)
The book is exceptionally well written - especially if you consider that this is the author's first work (as far as I know). Sandra Kishi Glenn shows real talent and her attention to detail is astonishing. To explain what I mean: The story unfolds over the course of a few years and the protagonist, Koishi Paz, works in a high-tech industry. Technology changes fast. And this is reflected precisely in the story - not in an obvious in-your-face way, but in some subtle details.
Don't expect too many "erotic scenes", though. Sandra Kishi Glenn describes a realistic D/s relationship between complex, mature characters. This relationship has many sides to it and develops in interesting, sometimes surprising ways. Physical sex is just one part it. This was not disappointing at all, even though I was looking for an "erotic" novel. On the contrary: it made the reading experience even more exciting and enjoyable.
Actually, I think it would be an enjoyable read for readers without any special interest in D/s relationships or D/s erotica at all.
I would love to see more from this author.
